Brewpubs
Boal City Brewing: Right down Route 45 in the nearby town of Boalsburg is where you will find happy locals drinking fabulous beer! Their beer menu is always changing as Mike, the brewer, loves to test out new recipes. There is plenty of outdoor seating to soak up some sun and live music to entertain multiple nights a week. As far as food, check the site for the food truck of the day or feel free to bring your own snacks.

Antifragile Brewing Co: This is the only taproom and brewery in downtown State College. They are known for a variety of fantastic beers that rotate often, Moody Culture Kombucha, and fresh crafted cocktails made from PA spirits. They also have live music often, and if their cheesesteak grill is fired up, be sure to grab one!

Happy Valley Brewing: Come visit a beautifully-restored barn where they offer a unique menu and serve some of the finest hand-crafted ales, lagers, and specialty beers you’ll ever quaff! The upstairs dining area has a great open-air feel and the downstairs bar offers a hip underground scene with music several nights a week. Our friend Greg Somers is a true beer connoisseur and has worked tirelessly to make his dream of having a brewpub a reality….well done indeed!

Axemann Brewery: Located in nearby Bellefonte, this spacious brewery in a repurposed metal factory sits right along a stream and active train track. There are plenty of beers on tap, snacks to enjoy, TVs to watch, and games to play - a little something for everyone! Check out the website for the two onsite kitchens available.

Elk Creek Café + Aleworks: One of our favorite places to drink good beer, hear unbeatable live music, and have a meal that is sourced locally and served sustainably. While it is a 30 minute drive, it is totally worth it!

Otto’s Pub and Brewery: Otto’s beer is handcrafted with the finest ingredients available and paired with American bistro cuisine using fresh ingredients from local farms, wineries, and bakeries.
